Meet the Team

Riverbank State Park Figure Skating Club is one of the 'biggest' and 'diverse' competitive figure skating program in New York City, teaching young girls and boys to gain skating techniques through a well organized and defined weekend skating program.

At the end of each skating season, the skating club puts together a spectacular skating show.

Head Coach - Abigail Ritch

The head coach for Riverbank Skating Club for three years. Venue Manager and Figure Skating Program Director at South Street Seaport, New York. Developed (from scratch) and directed an Ice Hockey program in Adelaide, South Australia. Gained certification as a Figure Skating Coach through New South Wales PSA, PSA in the US and ISI. Head coach for basic skills figure skating classes and taught "Learn to Skate" hockey classes. I took 8 students to National in Australia. Had several students pass senior in both moves and free-style. I have taken students to competitions all over the states. I choreographed individual and group skating programs for competition, edited music, designed costumes and props for exhibition shows including "Nutcracker on Ice" and “Wizard of Oz” in Huntsville AL and “Broadway on Ice” and “A Country Christmas” in Knoxville TN, and organized in-house competitions. Student Athletic Trainer at The University of Alabama Huntsville. I worked with the Women’s Basketball Team and Softball Team, Managed team practices. USFSA member in good standing.

Coach - Rebecca Santiago (Sundays)

Rebecca Santiago began skating at age 2 in New Jersey, where she was coached by Olympic medalist Colleen O'Connor and competed in singles from 1997 to 2008. She took a long break to focus on her career as a health and psychology journalist — but missed the ice too much, and returned last year to coach and strengthen her own skating. As a coach, she focuses on creating a positive, goal-oriented environment to help her skaters reach their highest level of performance on the ice. She works with all ages and levels on skills, footwork, jumps, spins, and choreography, and has successfully guided students through freestyle tests and competitions. She has memberships with USFSA, ISI, PSA, and the Skating Club of New York, as well as a B.A. in English and communications from Tufts University. Viktoria Chiappa

Coach - Vitkoria Chiappa (Saturdays)

Competed on behalf of the Hungarian International Figure Skating Team. She holds three national titles from the Hungarian National Championships and competed in international events such as The Ice Challenge and Coup de Nice, as well as Junior Grand Prix’. Upon her departure from competitive figure skating, she joined Disney on Ice presents Princesses and Heroes. She earned her BFA in acting and BA in liberal music arts, as well as a minor in dance, from Elon University. At Elon she focused on Dance Movement Theory and its transition to the ice, which was the subject of her undergraduate research. She believes in creating a fun and educational environment for skaters of all ages and levels. She strives to push figure skating to its limits, while providing skaters with the tools and foundation they need to have a career in the industry. Member of Professional Skating Association, United States Figure Skating, Hungarian Figure Skating Federation and Actors Equity Association.
